I just got my 2 kits in the mail last week. Cant wait to start one. I do how ever have a question to you guys that have also bought these new repops! I ordered 2 and my buddy Ronnie (aka Twinscrew) bought 3. In all 3 of Ronnie's Kits the chrome was crap! Looked dull and matted. I then immediatley checked my 2. In one kit, only 1 half of the tank sides was crap on mine. In my other kit, the stacks and breather caps were crap as well. We can't tell what happened. Looks like maybe the dipping process wasn't done correctly or improperly. Has any one else run across this problem? I bought my 2 from a different retailer than Ron did. So it just isn't contained to just one certain batch. Has any one else ran into this problem.

A few that Paul(41chevy) supplied to some of the guys here had problems as well as the 3 that I bought from Fantastic Plastics. Paul contacted MRC, the North American distributors about it and I think got replacement parts. I have yet to hear back from MRC about mine. Len at Fantastic Plastics said I was the first he had heard about it.

MRC..has indeed annouced that they are aware of the chrome "defect's"..and will be replacing them with new...
Contact the buyer you bought the "kit(s)" from..and make them aware of this..you should be able to get replacement parts (new chrome)

I got mine as well from Len. I haven't mentioned any thing to him about it yet. Twinscrew bought his from Model express. We've decided to send our chrome to Chrome Tech. What's mind boggling us is why would there QC dept let them out the door. Wouldn't you think they would check them out before they package them or at least check some of them? Hopefully they'll get a handle on this problem.

I bought two and they seem ok, but thanks for letting us know. I'll give my two a second look. Either way, I'm glad to see the 378 come back.

MRC and Italeri are replacing the defective chrome trees.
Of the kits I bought, 3/4 of them have the defect. A very strange defect. I've never seen this type of problem before.
